The 2019 Ford Ranger Configurator Is Ready For Adventure (specs And Photos)

After accidentally publishing (and quickly unpublishing) the configurator for the 2019 Ranger last week, Ford officially launched the truck online today, betraying the Ranger’s pricing and options structure. The 2019 Ranger will start at $25,395 (N9.2M Approx) for a base XL SuperCab 4×2,
It must be acknowledged that it represents a fairly substantial jump in base price compared to some of its competition like the base four-cylinder Chevrolet Colorado.

Admittedly, the Ford’s 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 will no doubt offer more power and torque than most of it’s competitors From the base XL, prices rise just a bit. SuperCab versions of the XLT and Lariat is sold for $29,035 (N10.5M Approx) and $33,305 (N12M Approx), respectively. Adding four-wheel drive requires about $4,000, depending on the model..

To be certain, nearly 40 grand is a significant starting point for a midsize pickup without any added extras. For comparison, a nicely equipped Colorado Z71 crew cab 4×4 starts at $37,195 with a few luxuries like Bose audio, a navigation system, and towing accouterment. While we’ve come to accept midsize trucks as having the same MSRP problems as their fullsize brethren, it’s a bit sad to see Ford not take the opportunity to significantly undercut its primary competitor.

Infotainment system ?

It comes with extra speakers a larger 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system running Ford’s Sync 3.. The XLT also includes Ford’s CoPilot360 safety suite, which adds automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring and lane-keep assist. It also picks up Ford’s 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capability.

All possible configurations carry the same powertrain — a 2.3-liter turbocharged I4 gas engine mated to a 10-speed automatic. Nevertheless, the Ranger promises to be a fine truck for active individuals and small families.

If You Scratch This ₦902k Car Paint,It Will Repair Itself When Exposed To Heat

Luxury manufacturer of roadsters and maker of Esperante Spyder, Panoz , has partnered with Feynlab to use its special coating on all its new vehicles.

When this Feynlab Self-Healing Plus coating is scratched, it repairs itself when exposed to heat and returns to its original smoothness.

The special coating is applied on a car using a suede cloth. The ceramic in it then chemically bonds to the car's factory paint to give it an extra shine.

If the coating scratches, the owner can repair them by simply parking the car in direct sunlight or by using a hairdryer.

The heat will cause the polymer to return to its remembered state, and the scratches will vanish.Deeper scratches will not be fixed by this coating.

And you don't have to buy a Panoz car just to take advantage of this protection. It is available in Europe through network of auto detailers and exotic dealers.

The basic protective coating starts at around $500 while the self-healing compound that Panoz uses is more in the $2,500 range.

Would you pay N902,000 ($2,500) to protect your car with the self-repairing paint or have it resprayed everytime it is scratched ?

5 Best Selling Cars Of All Time - All Still In Production

CARL BENZ APPLIED for a patent for his “vehicle powered by a gas engine” back in 1886, and is credited with creating the first automobile.

In the 131 years since then, the motor industry has produced billions of machines – it is estimated that more than 1 billion passenger cars travel the roads of the world today – in thousands of different models.

Some of those models, however, have been more successful than others.

Let’s take a look at the top five best selling cars of all time:

5. Volkswagen Passat 1973-present, 23 million sold
Passat has been able to record the most selling model for Volkswagen, with over 23 million units so worldwide. It was launched in 1973; however it wasn’t until Ferdinand Piech, who moved from Audi to VW in 1993, got his hands on the fourth-gen Passat that sales begin to soar.

This version of the Passat was lavishly engineered and had Audi underpinnings and refinement (it was based on the A4). As a result Volkswagen was seen as being more ‘upmarket’ and desirable, which helped drive sales of the car – as too did its pretty decent price.

4. Honda Civic 1972-present, 24 million sold
Honda was actually considering pulling out of car production altogether to concentrate on its more popular motorcycle manufacturing but then, in 1972, the Civic launched and was such a hit that Honda changed its mind.

The car has been in production ever since and entered its tenth generation in 2016. Fun fact: the Civic has been Canada’s best-selling car for 19 straight years, 1997-2016.

3. Volkswagen Golf 1974-present, 33 million sold
The Golf arrived on European roads in 1974 and American highways in 1975, although it was badged the Rabbit there.

Today, over 33-million units have been sold. This works out at 2,120 Golfs being produced and sold every day for four decades. The Golf is so popular because it is really good to drive, offers good value for money and has proven to be very reliable over the decades.

2. Ford F-Series 1948-present, 40 million sold
The Ford F-Series of trucks is unstoppable! The F-Series has been the best selling truck in America for 40 consecutive years and America’s best selling vehicle overall for the past 35 years. (Truck yeah!).

It was first introduced in 1948 and has gone on to sell 40 million units. In the 21st century, Ford sells a pickup for every single minute of the day. The first F-Series pick-up trucks were easy to fix, gained a reputation for being reliable workhorses and quickly became essential farm equipment.

1. Toyota Corolla 1966-present, 44.1 million sold
Since the launch of the first-generation Corolla in 1966, more than 44 million Corollas have been sold globally. By 1974 the Corolla was already the best selling car in the world.

One of the reasons it sells so well is that it is sold in over 150 countries and regions.

In 2015, the Corolla set another record, becoming the first new vehicle ever to sell more than 1.3 million units worldwide in a calendar year. The love of the Corolla doesn't seem to be waning either as it is the best selling car so far this year with 297,471 already sold.
